Rossana Sallenave is an Extension Aquatic Ecology Specialist in the Department of Extension Animal Sciences and Natural Resources at New Mexico State University.  She earned her Ph.D at the University of Guelph in Canada.  Her background is in freshwater ecology, aquatic ecotoxicology, and water quality.  She provides education programming on water quality, watershed stewardship, invasive species, aquaponics, and managing aquatic resources in a sustainable manner.

In the presentation “An Introduction to Aquaponics” Dr. Sallenave will provide an overview of aquaponics, discuss different system designs, important water quality parameters, general information about plants and fish, food safety, and more.
