Workshop 1 of the 4-part Direct Painting Workshop Series. Each workshop can be taken as a stand-alone class or as part of the larger series; register for each workshop separately.
In this workshop, a guest speaker will join the class to discuss local plant lore and ethnobotany. This workshop connects painting with cultural heritage and natural remedies.
Two to three still life setups featuring healing plants and herbal tools will be arranged throughout the museum. The instructor will demonstrate subject selection, edge control, color temperature, and focal hierarchy. Participants will rotate through the setups and produce one to two studies, followed by a group mini-share. The class is free and supplies and materials are provided.
