Across Cultures
An Exploration of the Diverse Cultures and Innovations that Paved the Way for Route 66

Museum staff are currently collaborating with local organizations and community members to develop a new exhibition that utilizes the interlinked themes of trade, transportation, and industry to provide visitors with a unique take on the history of Route 66, allowing them to determine the ways in which multiple cultures and innovations paved the way for the Mother Road. To accomplish this goal, the exhibition will be divided into four timelines that acknowledge major milestones or periods of transformation along the historical route that would eventually become Route 66.

The Across Cultures exhibition is intended to be part of a larger exhibition series that focuses on the location, culture, and innovation of Bernalillo, New Mexico. These exhibitions will be designed to provide community members with a connection to their past, a better understanding of their present, and an active participation in their future.
