Dr. Mario Del Angel Guevara and Dr. Eliseo “Cheo” Torres, both professors of the University of New Mexico Chicana/o Studies Department, will be presenting a program about the art of traditional healing. Every June they teach a two-week course on the importance of traditional medicine in the American Southwest and Mexico. Traditional healers from all over Latin American and the Southwest come together and present their different techniques to healing their community. Dr. Del Angel Guevara will present information on the local traditions of the Southwest.
